Here’s a piece I contributed to OperToon’s interactive story, Strange Rain. In the app, we hear musical phrases admist the patter of raindrops from a stormy sky. As we proceed through the story, a sentence at a time, we also advance through the music. This album remix, as I like to call it, stitches together the musical phrases into a whole.

Suggesting raindrops via piano is an age-old tradition. Here I also employed synths and reverse effects to reflect the app’s subtle visual oddities.

This piece for piano and accordion is more Parisian than wintery, but hopefully the music will evoke some January associations as well. This cue is also a distant cousin to “Autumn in Paris”, which I shared a few months ago. Enjoy!

This week’s cue is a modern take on 1960s spy movie music, composed for the mobile title Wizard Ops Tactics. I tipped my hat to the familiar tropes – jazzy brass chords, driving guitar, the seemingly obligatory Latin percussion – while adding some whimsy to reflect the sensibility of the game.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! I like to make my musical selections holiday-themed, but Thanksgiving is a tough nut to crack in that regard. This week’s selection has a warm conclusion which will hopefully approximate the feelings of the season.
