Cue of the Week: “Dogfight in the Skies”

This week’s selection comes from one of my first game scoring projects, Jane’s Attack Squadron. Accompanying aerial combat during gameplay, the music evokes both heroic derring-do and the tumult of battle.

Cue of the Week: “4AM”

This is a dark journey through an alien place. Synthesized timbres are in the foreground, joined by processed piano, cellos, and drum loops in the more driving middle section. This cue was closer to performance than traditional composition; I rode the pitch bend wheel in realtime in order to create the eerie fluctuations of tone and similar effects.

Cue of the Week: “Up-To-Date Blues”

Some cues create such impact that the moment of their creation becomes a powerful and lingering memory. This is not one of those cues.

Don’t quote me, but I believe I wrote this blues tune about a year after grad school. If pressed further I would say it was for some kind of multimedia presentation for a pharmaceuticals company. Or tourism company? In any case, I think it’s kind of catchy, so I hope you enjoy.
