Cue of the Week: “Frozen Fields”

This cue from the Dice Legacy soundtrack expresses icy winter through sustained strings as well as ethereal vocals. Said vocals come courtesy of recording artist Eurielle, whose fantastic voice is featured on several tracks on the album.

The sole lyric, “peregrinus”, is a Latin term for a non-resident settler, which perfectly describes the game’s protagonists. The lyric is also a nod to Prokofiev’s choral writing for Alexander Nevsky, one of my favorite film scores.
