Cue of the Week: “El Tequila Bar”

This third installment in our month of happy music series should be a hit among fans of Mariachi music and spirits-induced catatonia.

On a technical note, a few users of older versions of Internet Explorer have told me that they see nothing but a blank page when visiting this blog. If you find yourself experiencing this problem, please send me a short note so I can get a sense of how widespread the issue is. Please note that MikeMusicRadio.com does not recommend Internet Explorer, but we heartily endorse Firefox, Safari, Opera, Mosaic, Lynx, and going outside and getting some fresh air for a change.

Cue of the Week: “Field Work”

Continuing our month of nonstop happy music series, this cue prominently features the guitar-playin’ of the inimitably talented Tom Strahle. Not to mention mandolin-playin’ and whatever other overdubs I forced out of him that day. (This recording is of only two musicians, but I made them earn their keep.)

Vancouver Vagabond

Michael worked with composers Peter Allen and James Covell on the feature-length documentary Vancouver Vagabond, creating digital realizations of pieces from the classical and romantic orchestral literature.

Cue of the Week: “Audrey and Einstein”

It was recently remarked to me that this blog tends to feature a lot of music of dark/aliens-invading/yearning-for-eternal-truths sort of character. In response to this, mikemusicradio.com will proudly feature a month of happy music.

This week’s selection is for guitar, piano, and the least lachrymose of all instruments, the accordion. Enjoy!

Cue of the Week: “Trouble’s Overture”

An ominously-building musical prelude combining orchestral colors with chorus, drums, and electronic timbres. If this blog were written by a publicist, the words “relentless pulsation” would probably be dropped in somewhere. (Fortunately, I would never do such a thing myself.)
