Cue of the Week: Fish Studies Montage

Following the well-known theory that nothing moves a Friday along like music for bass marimba, here's a short but lively cue from Kulture Machine's short film Audrey and Einstein.

Cue of the Week: Escaping the Country

Another orchestral cue from The F-Zone, this week's selection underscores a brief airplane action sequence. (Airplanes are not always the composer's friend, but fortunately the sound mix was kind to the music.)

Cue of the Week: Vermilion Final Encounter

What better way to kick in the New Year than with music to accompany the attack of a murderous, sentinent painting? This cue underscores the gripping climax of White Rock Lake's thriller, Vermilion.

Whereas most of the Vermilion score is a balance between lyricism and ambience, this cue is almost entirely raw, visceral impact. Cello clusters, prepared piano, and multitracked vocal effects all contribute to an emotional ambience that we in the film music business refer to as "aaaiiii!"
