Cue of the Week: Culture

This bit of upbeat electronica was for a casual game demonstrating Microsoft's XNA technology at the last Game Developer's Conference in San Jose. (If you don't know what any of that means, don't worry - the music isn't nearly as complicated as the context implies.)

Cue of the Week: The Groupie

This week we have my stab at the venerable "lesbian groupie seduction scene" film-musical genre. The scene called for a musical texture that was both dreamlike and sensual, all while remaining within the film movie's rock-and-roll universe. I prefer to use organic sound sources when writing ambient music, so in this case turned to layers of processed electric guitar. (There is a touch of synthesized timbres as well.) The alluring vocals were provided by contemporary blues singer/songwriter Hilary Hearty.
